Where We Are
Kingston Central Ambulance Communication Centre is located in Kingston Ontario. We are part of Ontario’s land and air ambulance network.
Where We Come From
Ontario’s current land ambulance dispatch system was developed in the 1980’s when the Ministry of Health & Long Term Care (MOHLTC) was responsible for all aspects of the province’s ambulance system.
Ontario’s current land ambulance dispatch system was developed in the 1980’s when the Ministry of Health & Long Term Care (MOH) was responsible for all aspects of the province’s ambulance system.
Ambulance communication services are provided through a network of twenty-three Central Ambulance Communication Centres (CACCs) and Ambulance Communications Services (ACSs) all of which are funded by the MOH. Of the twenty-three centres, twelve are directly operated by the Province. Eleven centres are operated by others:
- 1 is privately operated
- 4 are operated by municipalities
- 6 are operated by hospitals
All communication centres are overseen by the province to ensure performance standards are met, regardless of who operates the centre. Kingston CACC is operated by the Kingston Health Sciences Centre as one of the six hospital operated centres.
An additional dispatch centre is operated by Ornge, Ontario’s air ambulance agency.

Seen above is a map showing the area dispatched by Kingston CACC (the area inside the blue border). We are bordered by Lindsay CACC to the west, Renfrew CACC to the north and Ottawa CACC to the east.
Kingston CACC is staffed by 22 dedicated full time Ambulance Communication Officers (ACOs) who receive the emergency telephone calls requesting ambulances and dispatch paramedics to those calls. Multiple part time ACOs provide relief and backup support for the full time ACO positions.
Support positions in the CACC include a Director, 2 Operations Managers, Quality Program Officer, Information Support Officer and 4 Supervisors.
Kingston CACC dispatches five Paramedic Services throughout Frontenac, Lanark, Leeds & Grenville, Lennox & Addington, Hastings and Prince Edward counties of Ontario.
